Mrs. Vernell Canty, 86, of Greenville, South Carolina passed on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Regency Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Grady and Fannie Mae Huff Sherman.
She was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas Canty, Sr., for 58 years and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving: two daughters, Dr. Mary Canty Merrill of Simpsonville, SC and Charlene Gilliam of Greenville, SC; one son, Thomas (Karen) Canty, Jr., of Simpsonville, SC; three grandchildren, Kearsten Jamell (Jared) Collier, Mariah Chantel Canty and Christian Tre’ Julian Canty; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service: Sunday, February 6, 2022, 2:00pm, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
