Robert Louis Duncan was born on July 26, 1964, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Robert Louis Duncan Sr. and Annie Bell Jones, both deceased. He grew up in Greenville County and attended Greenville County schools until 1980. After moving to Orlando, Florida, he attended Orange County Public Schools. He never met a stranger. He was always friendly and was known for his infectious smile and laughter. Robert was a boss (the man). He started his career working in restaurants and warehouses before becoming a sales representative and later holding management positions. He became an entrepreneur, founding Duncan Enterprises and launching several businesses, including a fencing company, an auto parts company, a home rehabilitation company, and a company that manufactures cover guard parts for air conditioners. He loved to eat, entertain, and show hospitality. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erica Duncan.
He leaves behind six children to cherish his memory: his daughter, Atlanta L. Duncan (New Jersey); his sons, Robert L. Duncan and Eric L. Duncan (Orlando, Florida); and his sons, Christian L. Duncan and Tyler L. Duncan (Hampton, South Carolina). He also raised a godson, Kwame (Moett) Dassey, in his home in Davenport, FL. He is also survived by three grandchildren and a bonus father, Kenneth Stimpson. He is also survived by three sisters: Angie (Ed) Atkins (Beaufort, South Carolina), Diane (Alfred) Austin (Orlando, Florida), and Mary McArthur (Allendale, South Carolina). He is also survived by two brothers: Leroy Washington (Dallas, TX) and Alexander Duncan (Garnett, SC). He is also survived by his godparents, Roean and Robert Pierre, Sr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, June 27, 2026, 11:00am, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment private.
