Mrs. Penny Grue Thorpe, 77, of 901 N Main St, Apt 78, Mauldin, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 490 Wenwood Road. Born in Fairmont, NC, she was a daughter of the late James and Clara Floyd Chavis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Thorpe.
Surviving: daughter, Pamela Chavis of Greenville; sons, Thomas Funderburk of Mauldin, Khalil Thorpe of Greenville, and Jonathan Thorpe of Greenville; sisters, Alice Powell of Fairmont, NC, Gloria (Harry) Perkins of New Haven, CT, and Previllia Chavis of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.y.
