Ruby G. Rosemond, 86, of Greenville, South Carolina, transitioned peacefully at her home on May 11, 2026. Born on May 23, 1939, she was the beloved wife of the late James Rosemond.
She was the daughter of the late Eddie Goldsmith Sr. and Zadie Sullivan Goldsmith. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Rosemond and Angela Mendez; along with her 15 siblings.
Ruby was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years as a seamstress in a sewing factory before retiring as a home healthcare aide. She was known for her strong spirit, outspoken nature, and unwavering love for her family. Her strength, humor, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory eleven grandchildren: Demetra Whaley, who was reared in the home; Angela Dillman; Michael Rosemond; Malisha Coleman; Dayna Greer; Mia Pierce; Dominque Greer; Dewayne Greer; Martika Howard; Montice Howard; and Edwin Howard. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Ruby is also survived by her nieces, Hattie Harris and Bernice Bennett, whom she loved like sisters; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Though she has departed this earthly life, her love, strength, and memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services: Monday, May 18, 2026, 11:00am, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
