Ms. Magdalena Porter, 61, of Piedmont, transitioned on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Juan Cruz and Myriam T. Martinez.
Surviving: one daughter, Mariah Porter (Jamarr) Brown, of Greenville, SC; two sons, Basil A. Brandon, of Elizabeth, NJ; and Gerome Porter, Jr., of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Myriam McCloud, of Trenton, NJ; and Daisy Cruz, of Irvington, NJ; one brother, Manuel Cruz, of San Juan, PR; seven grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be entrusted to Nesbitt Funeral Home, Elizabeth, NJ.
