Mrs. Ella Thompson King

Ella Thompson-King, born the middle child of 17 siblings to the late Larthun L. and Lilla Childs Durham of Greenville, South Carolina. Ella passed quietly and gently in her sleep at her residence on Wednesday, July 15th at the age of 95.

She is survived by two daughters: Wanda Thompson Smith of Simpsonville, and Danita (Gordon) Thompson Albert of Huntersville, NC; two sisters: Nettie Daniels and Charlesina (Jimmy) Yeargin; two brothers: Lisco (Nell) Durham and Glenn (Bobbie) Durham; and two sisters-in-law: Lila R. Durham and Ann E. Durham. Ella also leaves to cherish her memory 7 grands, 8 great grands and fourteen great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial Services: Friday, August 7, 2026, 1:00pm, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 290 Springdale Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
