Betty was a faithful member of the Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Windell and first lady Patricia Rodgers.

She went to work at Steel Heddle for over 35 years before retiring. Known for her warm and infectious smile, Betty had a way of lighting up any room and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her quick wit and kind spirit made her a joy to be around, and she lived a life rooted in love, faith, and compassion, especially toward her family.

Despite enduring illness for many years, Betty never complained. She remained strong, loving, and generous, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

She leaves to cherish in her memory; her daughter, Lisa R. Tarrant (Atalie Norton); two grandsons, Nico A. Tarrant of Greenville and Maleek D. Tarrant (Mary Tarrant) of Travelers Rest; one great-grandson, Zylik Tarrant; and four great-granddaughters, Renai Jackson, Chloe Tarrant, Kallie “Kallie Bug” Tarrant, and Bella “Toot Toot” Tarrant. She is also survived by one sister, Mildred Golden; a sister-in-law, Crebell Meekins; a lifelong friend who was more like a sister, Mrs. Billie Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Betty will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, unwavering love, and the joy she brought to others. She loved gardening and took great pride in her flowers and yard, often sitting back with joy as neighbors and passerby’s admired her handiwork.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of strength, love, and excellence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
