Mrs. Melva Louise Akins, 72, of Greenville, wife of Walter L. Akins, Sr., for 54 years, transitioned on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Born in Pendleton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley Webb, Sr. and Virgina Mae Williams Webb.

Surviving, in addition to her husband: one daughter, Erica G. (Richard) Staggers, IV of Manassas, VA; three sons, Walter L (Bessie Denise) Akins, Jr. of Greenville, SC , John Carl (Sabrin) Akins of Alexandria, VA and James T. (Debbie) Akins of Charleston, SC; one sister, Sandra (William) Oliver of Sulfork, VA; five brothers, John Wesley Webb, Jr, Simpsonville, SC , David (Jeanette) Webb of Greenville, SC, Walter Webb, Sr. of Fountain Inn, SC , Gary Webb of New York and Michael Webb of Mauldin, SC; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
