In Loving Memory of Mary Annette Freeman
March 13, 1946 – June 12, 2026
Mary Annette Henry Freeman was born on March 13, 1946, to Matilda Evelina Hutchinson and Pringle Freeman. She was the youngest of four daughters and was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved sisters, Helen and Mildred of Baltimore, Maryland, and Ophelia Miller of Greenville, South Carolina; and her cherished grandson, Sheldon LeVar Freeman II and Brooklyn Master Freeman.
In 1971, Mary Annette moved to Ohio in pursuit of greater opportunities and a brighter future. Determined and hardworking, she earned her cosmetology degree and began building a life centered on growth, independence, and service to others. She later relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where she worked for Frigidaire. Following the company's closure, she returned to cosmetology before beginning a distinguished career with General Motors.
Mary Annette dedicated 35 years of service to General Motors, spending her final five years in the corporate office before retiring. Her commitment to education never wavered, and while balancing work and family, she earned an Associate Degree in Economics from St. Clair Community College.
Mary Annette was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her family deeply and took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Susan Delores Freeman and Roger Eric Freeman; her grandchildren, D'Aundra Erica Freeman, Kelli Boone, and Myles Avery Freeman; and her great-grandchildren, Parisienne Guy, Sire Rodgers, Zoë Rodgers, Kelian Freeman, V'Niece Freeman and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary Annette will be remembered for her strength, determination, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. Through hard work, perseverance, and dedication, she built a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
