Marisa Gogins Saeed, lovingly known to many as “Princess,” passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2026, at the age of 49.

Born February 16, 1977, in Columbus, Georgia, to Jimmy and Sylvia Gogins, Marisa grew up in a close-knit military family. Her father’s service allowed the family to live throughout the United States and abroad, experiences that helped create an especially close bond between Marisa, her parents, and her siblings.

Marisa was beautiful inside and out, with a warm smile, an infectious laugh, and a presence that naturally drew people to her. She loved deeply and had a remarkable way of making people feel cared for. She was the one people turned to for advice, comfort, laughter, or simply a listening ear. To so many, Marisa was their person.

Marisa had a deeply nurturing spirit and poured her love into her nieces, nephews, younger cousins, and countless others. Many lovingly called her “Auntie,” and for them she was a constant source of love, guidance, encouragement, and care.

Marisa married her best friend and the love of her life, Mohammed Saeed, on May 20, 2013. She was also a dedicated employee of Teleco in Greenville, South Carolina, for more than 20 years, where she formed many lasting relationships.

Marisa is survived by her husband, Mohammed Saeed; parents, Jimmy and Sylvia Gogins; grandmother, Shirley Miles; sister, Constance Miles; brother and sister-in-law, Terrance and Sara Gogins; nieces and nephews, Trevon Miles, Damien Watson, Devon Watson, Gabriel Gogins, Kai Gogins, and Micah Gogins; and younger cousins who lovingly knew her as Auntie, Nashone Miles, Quanasia Jenkins, Dorian Miles, Tycarius Miles, and T’nya Miles.

She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Nartarsha Miles, John Miles, James Gogins, Roosevelt (Susie) Gogins, Rosabelle Gogins, Elizabeth Gogins, Malachi (Bernice) Gogins, Diane (Doug) Drake, and Inez (Robert) Campbell, along with many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and others whose lives she touched.

She was everyone’s person, and she will be deeply missed.
