Mr. Willie James Spurgeon

Mr. Willie James Spurgeon, 82, of Greenville, husband of Annie M. Phelps Spurgeon for 57 years, transitioned on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his residence. Born in Laurens County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late James and Willie M. Sims Spurgeon.

Surviving in addition to his wife: one son and daughter in law, Dari and TaShuna Spurgeon of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Mary (Charles) Johnson of Greenville, SC and Shirley (Roy) Wilson of Greer, SC; four brothers, Roy (Edith) Spurgeon of Mauldin, SC, Thomas Spurgeon of Columbia, SC, Charles (Gail) Spurgeon of Greenville, SC and Gregory Spurgeon of Greer, SC; two grandsons, Garrison and Evan Spurgeon both of Simpsonville, SC ; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Saturday, December 20, 2025, 3:30pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment on Tuesday, December23, 2025, 10:30am, at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
