Mr. Raymond Lee Salter

Raymond Lee Salter, born January 8th 1946, of 1021 Staunton Bridge Road Greenville, SC passed Tuesday March 10, 2026 at Regency Hospital in Anderson, SC.

He is survived by his children...Sedric Salter(Tammy Wright), Spencer Salter, Sanchez Salter(Sharon Salter)

His grandchildren... Janeka Salter, Jakayla Salter, Nicole Scott, Santia Wiley, Rodriquez LaBoone, Daniel Johnson, and Dondrey Johnson. His special friend Tina Durant.

His sisters and brothers... Lucinda Salter Young of New York, Edna Salter Cheeks of Greenville SC, Sara Salter Prince(Hubbie Prince) of Taylors SC, Callie Salter Hagood of Chicago IL, Samuel N. Salter(Earaylene Salter) of Charleston SC, William Salter Jr(Yvette Salter) of Chicago IL and Rufus Salter of Greenville SC.

As well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Raymond was baptized at an early age. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. Following high school Raymond proudly served in the Army and was in the Vietnam War. Once home he attended and graduated from Greenville Technical College where he earned a Degree and multiple certifications. He worked for Lockheed Martin and then for GE until retirement. He was also a lifetime American Legion member. Raymond devoted his life to his family and church, with his home church being Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Raymond, blessed with the gift of song, was a member of numerous church groups and choirs spending most Sundays traveling church to church to sing. When he wasn't at church his time was spent with his family and loving on his great grandchildren.

To know Raymond was to love him and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his Mother Callie L. Hailstock Salter and father William N. Salter Sr. His sisters and brother.. Lillie Ree Salter Smith of Greenville SC, Doris Ann Salter of Greenville SC, Lucille Salter of Greenville SC residing in Washington D.C. at passing and Randolph Salter of Chicago IL. And his grandson JaQuan Salter of Greenville SC.

Funeral Services: Thursday, March 26, 2026, 2:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
