Mr. John Henry Heyward

Mr. John Henry Heyward, 79, of Greenville, South Carolina, husband to Cora Lee Heyward, of the home, transitioned on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his residence. Born in Beaufort, SC; he was the son of the late Thomas and Blanch Heyward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Adams Heyward, two brothers, Christopher (Lydia) Heyward, and Don (Barbara) Heyward

Surviving: in addition to his wife, one daughter, Deborah Smith, of Bronx, NY; three sons, John Smith, Jr., of  Bronx, New York; Reginald Heyward, and Ja’velle Heyward, both of Greenville, SC; four sisters, Elnora (Gene) Rhodes, of Jacksonville, FL;  Joyce (Davis) Golden, and Thomasina Heyward Lumeh, both of Philadelphia, PA;  Rebecca (Edward) Jackson, of Savannah, GA; three brothers, Melvin Heyward, of Rock Hill, SC;  Lonnie (Barbara) Heyward, and Jackie (Willie Mae) Heyward, all of Columbia, SC; one grandchild, Regginald Heyward, Jr., of Greenville, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Sunday, June 22, 2025, 2:00pm, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, with interment on Monday, June 23, 2025, 11:00am in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
