Mr. John Belton "JB" Battle

Mr. John Belton "JB"  Battle, 73, was born March 28, 1952 in Greenville, SC, to the late James Battle Sr. and  Mae Frances Battle. He transitioned on February 28, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown leaving behind a devoted family and friends

JB received his early education at Saint Anthony Catholic School in Greenville, SC. He then attended Greenville High School where he was a member of the school band. John furthered his education at Voorhees College in Denmark, SC and North Carolina A&T State University, in Greensboro, NC.

At an early age , he worshipped at Allen Temple AME Church in Greenville, SC.

Those who knew JB will remember him as being kind, free spirit and hard working individual as well as a fantastic SINGER and DANCER. He also spent time as a a teenager playing little league basketball with the Baby Tigers at the old Phillis Wheatley Center in Greenville, SC.

John Belton Battle  JB  is survived by his five children; Jeremiah Battle, DeAndre Battle, Michell Owens, Danielle Battle and Ameshia Evans; his oldest brother Dr. James Battle Jr. (Joyce); nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him dearly.

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 7, 2026, 11:00am, at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary, with interment private.
