Mr. James Earl "Shorty" Richardson, Sr.

Mr. James Earl "Shorty" Richardson, Sr., 81, of Piedmont, husband of Gloria Delois Darden Richardson for 61 years, transitioned on Friday, June 12, 2026, at his residence. Born in Nash County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Cleotha and Bessie Coppedge Richardson.

Surviving, in addition to his wife: two daughters, Tammie (Robert) Pressley of Greenville, SC and Pamela Richardson of Piedmont, SC; two sons, James Earl (Kanika) Richardson, Jr. of Piedmont, SC and Jermaine (Lekeisha) Richardson of Simpsonville, SC; a granddaughter, Sydney Richardson, who was reared in the family home; five sisters, Nancy Higdon of Jacksonville, FL, Darlene (John) Clanton, Richmond, VA, Carlene Richardson, Forest Park, GA, Annette Grant of Newport News, VA, and Jeanette Washington of Simpsonville, SC; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service:  Sunday, June 28, 2026, 3:30pm, Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment private.
