Mr. James Earl Powers, 73, of Greenville, husband of Ruth Stokes Powers, transitioned on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. Born in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Charles D. Powers and Minnie Lois Moore Powers.
Surviving, in addition to his wife: one daughter, Tashonda Jackson of the home; one son, Darius (Brittany) Powers of Columbia, SC; four sisters, Brenda Powers, Linda Powers, Pamela Murphy all of Greenville, SC and Darlene Powers of New York; one brother, Charles R. Powers of Greenville, SC ; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Sunday, December 21, 2025, 1:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
