Mr. George Alvin McElrath
May 12, 1935 — December 30, 2025
Mr. George Alvin McElrath, 90, of Taylors, widower of the late Bennie Joe Geer McElrath, transitioned on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at his residence. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Ulysses Grant and Lucille Walker McElrath. He was the last surviving of his immediate family.
Surviving: one daughter, Dr. Lydia M. Braggs of Greer, SC; three grandchildren, Chester Vaughn Braggs, Eboni Brown and Aaliyah McElrath; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Thursday, January 8, 2026, 11:00am, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery.
