Mr. Freddie H. Williams, Sr., 85, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, transitioned peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Agape Hospice House in Landrum, South Carolina.
A native of Harlem, New York, Mr. Williams was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1940, in Kinston, North Carolina (Lenoir County) to the late James and Elizabeth Williams.
He was a graduate of South Ayden High School, Ayden, North Carolina, Class of 1959. Determined to create a better life, Freddie relocated to New York City, where he later met and married Shirley G. Smith. From this union, three children were born: Sheila, Freddie Jr., and Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Lois, Ruby, Joseph, Johnny and Jimmy; and Granddaughter Aneeka Elizabeth Williams. He leaves to cherish his legacy his devoted children: Sheila (Kenneth) Gilmore of Mauldin, SC; Freddie (Shirley) Williams, Jr. of Hamden, CT; Sharon Adams of Simpsonville, SC; Grandchildren, Ebony, Darryl Jr., Tiffany, Freddie III, Dakota, and Faith; 11 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Nancy of Glen Allen, Virginia, Helen of Hyattsville, MD, Jeanette of College Park, MD and Retired LT Commander Ayesha Muhammad, USN, of Arlington, Virginia; one brother, Franklin (Sarah) Williams of Augusta, GA; one Aunt, Martha Bazemore, (age 104) Aliquippa, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, January 3, 2026, 11:00am, at New Foundation Missionary Baptist Church, with interment in Church Cemetery.
