Mr. Jonathan C. Vernon 78, husband of Shirley Dawkins Vernon for 48 years, transitioned on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at his residence. He was a son of the late Leola Brondean Vernon.
Surviving, in addition to his wife: two daughters, Deneitra (Marc) McElrath of Columbia, SC and Anna (Jermaine) Robinson of Moore, SC; one son, Martin Vernon of Greenville, SC; five sisters, Carolyn (Leroy) Chapman, Janet Vernon, Sylvia Vernon, Gloria Vernon and Dianne Vernon all of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Donald Ray (Carolyn) Vernon, Leonard (Jean) Vernon and Timothy Vernon all of Greenville, SC; one grandson, Garrison McElrath; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, June 13, 2026, 1:00pm, at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment on Monday, June 15, 2026, 2:00pm at M J Dolly Cooper Veteran Cemetery.
