John McGowans

Mr. John Henry “JJ” McGowans, 69, of Pelzer, South Carolina, passed on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Simpsonville Health and Rehab. He was a son of the late Henry and Mary Helen Ledbetter McGowan.

He was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School and was retired from Southeastern Paperboard Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pamela J. McGowans; and two sisters, Doris McGowan and Patricia A. Johnson.

Left to cherish many loving memories are one daughter, Tamicko McGowans (Jerry) Tatum of Greenville, SC; one son, Brandon Devario McGowans of Taylors, SC; three brothers, Deron L. (Semone) McGowan of Taylors, SC, Ricky E. (Loretta) McGowan of Piedmont, SC and Timothy W. McGowan of Greenville, SC; one grandchild, Breanna Tatum; aunts, Effie Johnson of Washington, DC and Roberta Ledbetter of Connecticut; an uncle, Roy Sloan; brothers-in-law, Thomas Johnson of Greenville and Gregory (Veronica) Wright of Stone Mountain, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
