Mr. Jerry Michael Dickey

Mr. Jerry Michael Dickey, affectionately known as “Mike,” was born on February 6, 1955, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Mary Ellen Hamilton and the late Jackson Dickey. On September 15, 2026, Mike departed this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, music, service, and cherished memories.

Mike made his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where his faith and love for God remained at the center of his life. He was a devoted member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple in Cincinnati, where he faithfully served the Lord and the church.

Mike possessed a genuine love for the Word of God. He was a Bible scholar in his own right, dedicating himself to studying and understanding the Scriptures. His knowledge of the Bible was not simply something he possessed—it was something he treasured and carried with him throughout his life. His devotion to God was evident in his lifelong commitment to the church and his desire to know God’s Word.

Along with his love for Scripture came a deep passion for music. Mike loved to sing and shared his musical gifts as a member of multiple bands throughout his lifetime. Music brought him joy and gave him another way to express what was in his heart. His voice, his love for music, and the songs he shared became part of the memories that family and friends will forever hold dear.

Mike was many things to many people—a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. His life touched those around him in ways both great and small, and those who knew him will remember his faith, his knowledge of Scripture, his musical spirit, and the unique presence he brought into their lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Dickey, and his brother, Stevie Dickey.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Mary Ellen Hamilton; his family, Stanley Dickey, Lindy Foster, and Tyrone Crooks; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his journey.

Although Mike’s earthly journey has ended, the testimony of his life remains. The Scriptures he studied, the songs he sang, the service he gave, and the faith he carried will continue to live in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him.

His voice may now be silent on earth, but the melody of his life will not be forgotten.
