Mr. JC Martin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of JC Martin on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 87. JC passed away peacefully at hospice.

JC was born on September 28, 1938, in Gray Court, SC to Carl Martin and Sylvia Martin. He is devoted father of five children, Denise Makins, Tasha Martin-Mansell, Christopher Martin, bonus Gwen Campbell and Jay Carter, and were blessed with three grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Demagio Mansell, Matthew Carter, and Hezekiah Martin.

JC was a dedicated employee for over 20 years, working at Cryovac Corporation, where he was known for his passion for innovation and mentorship. Outside of work, he enjoyed antique cars, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

JC life was defined by his generosity, love of family, and the joy he found in spending time with friends. His kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

JC is survived by, Deborah Martin, from whom he was estranged and children Denise (Andre), Tasha (Alvin), Chris, bonus Gwen and Jay: grandchildren Demagio, Matthew, and Hezekiah and his sister Claudia Pyles, nieces Valerie, Angela, and nephew Curly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl, Sylvia, and sister, Edna.

The family would like to thank Addus Home care, Wren Hospice, and Inman Healthcare for providing exceptional care. Toni, Joan, Doug, Catherine Smith and many others who took the time to comfort him in his time of need.

A celebration of JC life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, 3:30pm, at 1011 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC 29605 at Watkins, Garrett, & Woods Mortuary.
