James Thompson

Mr. James Edward “Bay James” Thompson, 71, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2017, at McCall Hospice House. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Howard Thompson, Sr., and Mary Frances Westfield Thompson.

He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was formerly employed with Greater Greenville Sanitation Department.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughter, Andrea (Benjamin) Whitener of Greenville; sisters, Maxine (Jimmy) Doby, DeFettna Thompson and Ella Barbara Golightly, all of Greenville; brothers, Howard Thompson, Jr., and Waco (Pam) Thompson, both of Greenville; two grandchildren, Brandon Whitener and Sasha (Charles) Greer, both of Greenville; special friend, Loretta Rhodes of Greenville; special cousin, Lillie Dunbar of Greenville; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
