Mr. James Gist Jr.

Mr. James Gist Jr., 84, of Greenville, husband of Debra Jean Crouch-Gist, of Greenville, transitioned Thursday, August 27, 2026, at McCall Hospice House.

Surviving, in addition to his wife: three sons, James A. (Gwendolyn) Sullivan, Darius Gist, and Marius (Issa) Gist, all of Greenville, SC; one brother, Thomas (Joan) Gist of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving friends and family at the home of Mrs. Deborah Gist at 11 Maco Street Greenville, SC 29607 on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm both days. 

Flowers are welcome as we remember and honor the life of James Gist. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made in his memory to the Beautification Fund of Rock Hill Baptist Church #1  500 Dublin Road Rd Greenville, SC 29615

Funeral services: Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 11:00AM at Rock Hill Baptist Church #1, with interment in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
