Emelda Victoria "Mel" Lindsay

March 25, 1947 — January 9, 2026

Emelda Victoria (Mel) Lindsay, 78 years young of Baxter Street, Greenville, SC, transitioned January 9, 2026, at Ironwood Street, Woodbridge, VA after a long illness. She was an Administrative Assistant at Fort Belvoir Army Base until her retirement in 2007 after 27+ years in the Federal Government. Ms Lindsay was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church, Alexandria, VA.

She was preceded in death by her mother Minnie Mae Lindsay and her father Jimmie (B) Lindsay as well as her older brother Jimmie David Lindsay.

She is survived by her only child, her daughter Paulette Lindsay and her younger brother Charles Lindsay. She is also survived by Charle’s two daughters and their families, Chastity (Lindsay) Brackeen, her husband Johnathan and their daughter Anaya. And Meesha Lindsay and her four sons Peyton, Christian Rivera, Aden Rivera and Breylen Hall.

Funeral Services: Saturday, February 21, 2026, 11:00am, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
