Mrs. Betty Jean “Betty Oglesby” Copeland, 81, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at home. Born in Westminster, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Beatrice Wilson Oglesby. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Copeland.
Surviving: daughter, Carolyn (James) Johnson of Piedmont; son, James Anthony Copeland of Greenville; sisters, Johnnie Mae Demons of Fayetteville, NC and Alma Ruth Neal Alexander of Charlotte, NC; brother, Rev. Eddie (Judy) Oglesby of Newark, NJ; grandchildren, Shakita Johnson, Lanedra Sullivan, Eugenia Copeland, and Eddie Copeland; seven great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Thomas Moore of Greenville, and a host of other relatives and friends.
