Ms. Betty Jane Irby Chaffold, 94, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Greenville Post Acute. She was a daughter of the late James L. Irby and Ella Mae Burnside. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving: four great nieces, the Honorable Jacqueline Duckett of Simpsonville, SC Julie Irby (Jeff) Redmond and Jatavia Irby (Leon) Rhodes, both of Greenville, SC, and Aisha Whiteside Irby; two great nephews, James F. Irby and Robert Irby; three cousins, Peggy Wheeler of Piedmont, SC, Teddy (Ophelia) Burnside and Sarah Anderson, both of Greenville, SC; one bonus niece, Betty Carol Hill of Boston, MA; two nephews, Robert Emory Irby and John L. Irby, both of Greenville, SC; two great-great nieces, Abria Smith and Amaya Duckett; one great-great nephew, Qualon Duckett; and one great-great- great niece, Laila Branham; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Saturday, January 20, 2024, 2:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
