Julia Zada Mae Ashmore Williams

Sixty-five (65) years ago, God planted a seed in his earthly garden.  The seed grew into a beautiful flower and on Monday, November 20, 2006, God decided to pick her so that he can bring her to her heavenly home.  Mrs. Julia Zada Mae Ashmore Williams was born April 19, 1941 to the late Mr. Malvin and Mrs. Nellie Wright Ashmore.

At an early age, she joined Friendship Baptist Church where she worked faithfully.  She was the church musician, President of the Deaconess Board,  a member of the Missionary Society and attended Sunday School, Prayer Service and choir rehearsals faithfully.  She was educated in the Greenville County School System and was in the 1957 graduating class of Sterling High School.  On January 28, 1961, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Roy Williams, Jr.  From this forty-five (45) year union, two wonderful children were born.  She was employed for twenty-six (26) years at  Wunda Weave and retired from Sara Lee Bakery in 2002.

She was preceded in death by six brothers:  Paul, Malvin, Jr., William, John Willie, James and Harrison Ashmore and a sister, Marjorie Allen. She leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories, husband, Roy Williams, Jr., of the home; daughter, Ms. Yevette Lolanda Williams of Greenville, SC; son, Mr. Roy Edward Brian (Ywanda) Williams of the home; five grandchildren; Brian, Brandon, Alex and Sommer Williams of the home and Jacob Sullivan of Simpsonville, SC; one sister, Amanda Gail (Calvin) Cook of Simpsonville, SC; two brothers, Rufus and Winfred Ashmore of Greenville, SC; brother-in-law, O.D. (Birdie) Williams; sisters-in-law, Doris Ann Ashmore, and Laura Ashmore of Greenville, SC, Mary Alice Hunt and Mamie (James) Louris  of  Pontiac, MI; a devoted aunt, Delores Wright of Greenville, SC and a special niece, Sharon Morgan of Easley, SC, and a host of nieces and nephews.
