Sixty-five
(65) years ago, God planted a seed in his earthly garden. The seed
grew into a beautiful flower and on Monday, November 20, 2006, God
decided to pick her so that he can bring her to her heavenly home.
Mrs. Julia Zada Mae Ashmore Williams was born April
19, 1941 to the late Mr. Malvin and Mrs. Nellie Wright Ashmore.
At an early
age, she joined Friendship Baptist Church where she worked
faithfully. She was the church musician, President of the Deaconess
Board, a member of the Missionary Society and attended Sunday
School, Prayer Service and choir rehearsals faithfully. She was
educated in the Greenville County School System and was in the 1957
graduating class of Sterling High School. On January 28, 1961, she
was united in Holy Matrimony to Roy Williams, Jr. From this
forty-five (45) year union, two wonderful children were born. She
was employed for twenty-six (26) years at Wunda Weave and retired
from Sara Lee Bakery in 2002.
She was
preceded in death by six brothers: Paul, Malvin, Jr., William, John
Willie, James and Harrison Ashmore and a sister, Marjorie Allen. She
leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories, husband, Roy
Williams, Jr., of the home; daughter, Ms. Yevette Lolanda Williams
of Greenville, SC; son, Mr. Roy Edward Brian (Ywanda) Williams of
the home; five grandchildren; Brian, Brandon, Alex and Sommer
Williams of the home and Jacob Sullivan of Simpsonville, SC; one
sister, Amanda Gail (Calvin) Cook of Simpsonville, SC; two brothers,
Rufus and Winfred Ashmore of Greenville, SC; brother-in-law, O.D.
(Birdie) Williams; sisters-in-law, Doris Ann Ashmore, and Laura
Ashmore of Greenville, SC, Mary Alice Hunt and Mamie (James) Louris
of Pontiac, MI; a devoted aunt, Delores Wright of Greenville, SC
and a special niece, Sharon Morgan of Easley, SC, and a host of
nieces and nephews.
