Ruby Mae Hamilton

On Friday morning, October 7, 2005, our father, brother, grandfather, departed this life to be with his heavenly father.

‘To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die”.  Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Ruby Mae Hamilton, after an extended illness  was called home on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at North Greenville Memorial Hospital in Travelers Rest, S.C  after an extended illness. She was the first of two children born in Iva, SC on October 9, 1932 to the late Iserleane Holmes and Edward Holmes. The wife of the late Willie James Hamilton.

At an early age she joined Long Branch Baptist Church where she was an active member for many years. She also attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, she testified in church and enjoyed the Lord. She was a caring worker as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Francis Hospital for a number of years she later retired from Morrison’s Cafeteria. She was an active member in the neighborhood helping those in need with meals, clothing and sometimes a place to stay. She was preceded in death by three sons, Willie Hamilton, Jr., Stanley Holmes and Glenn Holmes.

Ruby Mae Hamilton after seventy-four years leaves to cherish fond and loving memories four daughters, Brenda M. Holmes of Decatur, GA, Debra A. Harris, Dianne Young and Angela Hamilton of Greenville, SC; one son, Michael Holmes of Decatur, GA; one sister, Kathleen Workman of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Iserleane U. Holmes, Victor A. Harris, Sonya L. Young of Greenville, SC and Ortegra Y. Harper and Tanisha J. Graham of Decatur, GA; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Dendy, Chelsea Jones and Jaquez Harris of Greenville, SC; two aunts, Jessie Mae Holmes and Annette Holmes of Greenville, SC; two uncles, Chip Holmes and Buddy Holmes of Greenville, SC; one nephew, Andrea Workman, Jr. of Greenville, SC; one great-nephew, Andrea Workman, Jr.; four great-nieces, Ariana Workman, Atianna Workman, Andra Workman and Amon Workman and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
 



Somewhere there is no parting.  Somewhere there is no pain.  Somewhere loved ones are waiting to greet us once again.  And beyond our understanding may this set our hearts to rest,  Somewhere there in all his wisdom a loving  God knows best.
