James Chapman, Sr.
When you departed from this
life
The blow was so severe
That deep inside our aching hearts
There fell an endless tear.
For you could not bid us goodbye
Before you went away
And there were no farewells
That you or we could say.
God watched you suffer,
Knowing you had your share.
Gently closed your weary eyes and took you in his care.
The flowers we place upon your grave
Will wither and decay
But our love for you will never fade.
We will miss you,
For you are resting now,
And we will see you again someday.
